Wit h the new laws in Cal about cell phone use in the car I've been thinking about Bluetooth a lot lately. Now I see there are bluetooth enabled hearing aids like these www.hearwell4life.com/digital...ids.html out there that not only connect with Bluetooth, but they allow you to listen in stereo. Cool. Listening to the DVD player over digital hearing aids in stereo would be pretty nifty I think.
What do you think? Have you tried these yet?

Just one caveat or clarification may be that (as I understand the devices), the hearing aids themselves do not receive the Bluetooth signal. The Bluetooth signal is sent to the transceiver, the Epoq Streamer, which then sends a radio frequency signal to the hearing aids. So, you also have to carry the Streamer with you to use Bluetooth.
For a while now, I have been using a Phonak hearing aid with a SmartLink transceiver to receive a Bluetooth signal from my iMac computer at home. With iTunes running, I can walk anywhere in my apartment and hear a song playing in my right ear, without having to install any elaborate speaker system. Having the SmartLink device with the directional microphone has also been very helpful in challenging situations like trying to talk to a passenger while driving or in a noisy restaurant.
So, I can recommend the Phonak hearing aid and SmartLink transceiver with Bluetooth capability. Mostly, if anyone else has a Phonak BTE hearing aid with an FM boot, there are some new battery compartment doors available now from Phonak that significantly improve the previous contact problems that made receiving the Bluetooth signal so unreliable.
